Impeached? You mean for sending American military to help overthrow the government of another sovereign country?

I've said it before here and I'm sayin it again.  Obummer ain't gonna make a full term much less be re-elected.  He will be impeached.  His biggest FU....failure to secure the border.  His policies at present can easily be viewed as treason.  He has not just opened the door to terrorists but has paved them a four lane highway.

Bump

Have you heard?!??!  Ralph Nader and Dennis Kucinich are calling for impeachment.  First rumblings...... but, I'm just sayin.....

Kalimon, I glad you find me interesting.  You make a lot of assumptions, but thats OK.  I disagree with the lies comment, but only to see if you can back it up.  Or was that just a generalization without basis for sake of argument?  On the nicknames, well that's just something we do here in the South.  Its a way of showing affection to people we are talking to.  You can keep calling me Hamster if you wish.  My friends also call me Pink, Coon, Omar, and Captain.  I like Lush Bimbo, everyday he gives 3 million people their "daily affirmation" and I think Faux News is one of the best comedies on TV today.

Calif....that's another way of spelling caliph, which is of course an islamic spiritual leader.....hmmm....somehow appropriate?

Randy, read the line carefully...I said EVERYBODY got their hand out....'specially big business. I refer to the fact that Big Business is given every break they want: special accounting rules, special tax breaks, special political favors.  They can afford to spend millions on lobbyists, and one well placed lobbyist can negate the wishes of many thousands of a elected representative's constituents. The tax advantages given big businesses are amazing and they take every advantage of them. I am guessing Michigan probably gave manufacturers of electric batteries for cars special tax breaks and incentives, no?  Would they have located there anyway? Probably.  Batteries weigh a lot, and shipping them from Mexico to the plants in Detroit would have cost a fortune and there are a lot of Michiganders who could use a job (should Detroit still be making cars soon - seems no one thought we should have bailed out GM and Chrysler - which of course was a political favor...see what I mean?).

Point of view question RV: You say your company can't fund your retirement...but you have bought stock to fund your retirement.  Where did your money to buy stocks come from?  Self employed people by very definition fund their own retirements.

I too, have invested a large percentage of my retirement in stock, evenly split between large and small caps.  I want them to grow, but I would also like them to pay some taxes.  I don't want to carry my tax load AND theirs...know what I mean? I'm all for investment credits, but I don't really think a CEO of a publicly traded corporation needs to have a yearly compensation package in excess of $25M, most of which is tax sheltered/tax deferred.   I often wonder if CEO's are hired more for their ability to win political favors, rather than their ability to lead companies.

It always amazes me when self employed small business owners vigorously defend big businesses perks, when the same perks are not extended to small business owners.  Obviously our lobbyists suck.  I know mine does....oh wait, I can't afford a lobbyist.  Do small business owners think there is some trickle down going on?  Is there a "too small to fail" fund that I missed out on?

Yes we all love big business.  I just want them to pay taxes on their profits at the same rate that I pay on my profits....I dunno, seems fair to me.  Randy, could you or Kalimon explain why that is stupid of me?  And yes, RV, I am still having fun making people think, even if they don't want to :)

PS. I am not a fan of Big Government. You can start by dumping Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. But then employers might be forced to set up retirement funds for employees.  Boy that would be fun. We could get rid of Homeland Security really quick and turn their duties over to the military and then determine "an acceptable level of casualties from terrorist attacks" (you know, make it cost-effective). Bye Bye DEA (Americans gonna get their buzz on, laws be darned - see Prohibition...that worked well).  Department of Education bye bye. Lets make it so we get to vote on going to war.  And who needs 1200 different intelligence agencies?  And get rid of the IRS and make the states collect all taxes and pay for everything. Then we can have 50 separate versions of Congress....that would spread the lobbyists a little thin....

Hey Chip
I find it interesting that you say that you do not have the time to listen to talking heads because they rarely say something that you haven't already heard. With your selective hearing this does not surprise me.

While it is true that many politicians make campaign promises that are often crafted to mislead, your personal hero, Obama, lies every time he speaks. If you are happy with this so be it. If you disagree it attests to your selective hearing.

Also your habit of renaming people and things that do not agree with your warped viewpoints ie; Lush Bimbo & Faux News seems like childish name calling when you lack intelligent insight to support your inane views.

Domingo is right you are nothing more than a hamster in his wheel. Your insignificance is truely insignifacant.

Randy, Big Business is Chipper's personal boogieman. What confuses me is how big business is so bad but big government will save us all.

Why is big business the bad guy? I own stock in big business - - - - I want them to make money so my retirement investments will grow . . . . . . I sure know my small business will not be able to fund a retirement pension.

Coop, if you call 411, they will give you the number for 911 :).  In the old days they would connect you to it for free, but now they will charge you a dollar. Everybody got their hand out, 'specially big business.

You are right about Congress, look how we let them add so much to bills that have nothing to do with the original bill.

OMG COOP! Get to a hospital immediately! You are either crazy from the heat or about to be excoriated by Dingo (I bought that word at Wal-Mart just for him, but sadly, it's too big) and will need a bandaid for the pin prick. You can charge the bandaid to Obamacare....

I think if we could elect people to Congress who thought like the majority of the citizens, maybe we would spend less, fight less, take better care of our citizens and infrastructure, and quit wasting money on special interest bullpork.  But we send people to Congress who keep their ideals for about 15 minutes and then are seduced by the power and immediately begin planning to get re-elected.  Let's see how long Scott Brown stays Scott Brown....The president? The president is just one man versus 435, he proposes, they decide.

Again, we don't vote for a party's policies, we vote AGAINST a party's policies...its called a mandate and is the the expression of the will of the majority of the people.  So all you folks who keep saying that people who voted for Obie are (insert favorite derogatory term here), well, you are in the minority, and SOL, at least for now. I guess life sucks for you. We survived 8 years of presidential idiocy, I guess we can survive 4 more....or maybe Obie will crown himself Emperor For Life and banish conservatives to Haiti. (Oops, Dingo is going to have bad dreams all night...where's his woobie?)

Kalimon, please don't tell me you believe what politicians "promise" to get elected.  Do you also fall for "The check is in the mail" and "Honey, I promise I won't...."?  I think Obie did what all politicians do, he delivered a perfectly crafted campaign message that resonated with the majority of Americans.   I also think he is working his way thru his agenda fairly efficiently and the GOP Congressional leadership is missing an opportunity to help craft the legislation. Oh well.

I am glad you like Alaska's previous governor...or half-governor, as she bailed from her duly elected position to cash in on her 15 minutes.  I encourage you to go to work for her presidential campaign, and be a part of the process.

Thanks for the link to the "chirpy lesbian liberal" Maddow, whoda thought she was your type?

Old Rachel Maddow

New Rachael Maddow

She is interesting, but I don't have much time to watch talking heads.  I have noticed that they rarely tell me something I haven't already heard...

I also never knew there WAS liberal talk radio.  I thought Air America was the CIA's private air force during 'Nam (?).  I have listened to NPR on the college station from Isothermal Community College down in  Spindale when I'm in the mountains, but mostly all I hear there is bluegrass and Reverend Billy's Rhythm Revival. ( we ain't got no teebee in the mountains....just the one radio and...and the occasional caterwauling catamount....and....crickets....lots of crickets)

In closing, I would say it is an irrational fear, possibly caused by overindulgence of Lush Bimbo, to believe Obie "is a very real threat to this country".  You really don't have much faith in the system that has worked for over 200 years and has survived stupid, horny, drunk, crazy and even Canadian-born presidents.  He really IS a boogeyman to you.  Sure 60% of Americans are not happy with his performance, and even more are unhappy with Congress.  We hate our government. What's new?  Seems like the last administration wasn't too well liked either.

Y'all'd better git on the stick, if the GOPpies don't win big in November, you might have to change your 1/20/2013 bumperstickers to 1/20/2017......

BTS, I must be in the heat to long for I agree with your last post for the most part. (your way with words I find interesting) But, my point is if you scratch  past the surface and dig down in govenment, the players stay the same. The puppet changes ,but the linkpins are still there. We are being drained and controlled and the D or R behind a name means nothing. FOLLOW THE MONEY, it is a game , and players change teams to stay in the game.
The latest puppet in office is just playing by the script, laying the bricks handed to him for the next "mason" being groomed behind the curtain.

Hey Chip

Chris Mathews, really? The man who said he gets a tingle up his leg every time he hears Obama speak.  Conservative talk radio tends to be extremely accurate as Rush and Glen have a constant collection of liberal proctors waiting to report any and all misinformation and assaults on the liberal/progressive agenda. I also listen to Air America because I have an open mind. Unfortunately I don't listen too long because it gets difficult to listen to the hate filled rhetoric that is never backed up with facts or sound bites. NPR, not much better.

The sweetheart of socialists herself Rachel Maddow recently had a little something to say about Obie's hypocritical ways. Here is the post for your enjoyment
  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBHnOiBJEjk&feature=related

Well Chip it seems that through your own statements we are  left with a bit of a quandary. You intimate that that due to my stupidity or  naiveté, I expected a change in the business as usual status of Washington . I tend to  agree that it is completely unrealistic to believe that the game of politics  would change with a new player. But your president campaigned and PROMISED  change and transparency with his election to office. Through the application of  logic there can only be one answer to the two obvious choices. Your president,  Obama, either was stupid and naive to believe that he could change the business  as usual. Or he lied. You choose is Obama stupid or a liar? Those are  only choices when approached logically. Which is he Stupid or a liar?

By the way the boogyman   is a imaginary threat adhered to by children who have irrational fears.   Obama on the other hand is a very real threat to this country and our   way of life. It saddens me that a seemingly intelligent person that you appear to be cannot see what 60% of the American have come to realize.   And that number is growing my friend.

LOL backatcha!  With a gangsta name like 'supdog', I figured you be down with Obie.  But shucks no, he's just a "socialist thug tyrant" whose supporters are stupid.  Thanks for the rehashing all of the wingnut talking points (Obama socialist! big government BAD!), how about some constructive suggestions?

Pay up, bet fail. Talk radio is not relevant, I don't care if its left, right or center.  It is nothing more than propaganda and "comfort food" for those who listen to it.  It makes no pretense of being honest...radio is about one thing and ONE THING ONLY...attracting and keeping listeners of a certain demographic to listen to the ads and pay the station's bills.  Talk radio is especially attractive to a certain set of advertisers, because it attracts primarily white males 50+ (or people who think like white males 50+) who buy certain products.  I wonder if Cialis advertises on talk radio?
A friend and neighbor of mine (and conservative radio host) who owns 10-15 radio stations recently lost Rush's show because Clear Channel (who owns Rush) wanted him on their local station.  I asked him about it and he said it was a mixed blessing - Rush's listeners never stray and will buy whatever Rush pitches - BUT the number of advertisers with a "NO RUSH" clause in their contracts was large and steadily growing.

So...no "we need to take care of our own"?  How un-Christian. Gosh, get thee to church.  Thee has fallen away from the teachings of the Bible.

The train wreck already happened.  In case you didn't notice...

Entitlement programs are a cancer?  How about massively expensive (and unfunded) wars, (unfunded) tax cuts, (unfunded) government drug programs?  (guess who?)

Yep we voted against the the Republicans because during their oversight we spent money like a kid with a stolen credit card, allowed the best financial system in the world be raped by greedy insiders, involved our country in wars that have no end in sight and made our country only marginally safer from terrorist attack.  Now that the country is in a shambles, the Republican leadership in Congress has pretty much spent the whole time refraining from any attempt to right the ship.  Their plan?  Wait 4 years, see if we can vote Obama out and THEN try to fix things.  In the meantime, the rest of the country can sit and spin.  I don't think we can afford to do that.  But it appears some folks are cool with that.

On an unrelated note, I was going thru some of my father's things recently and ran across an old file from when he ran a mayoral campaign for a friend of his.  After the guy was elected, Pops went thru the donor list and sent every donor a thank you note and a pro-rated check out of the funds that were left over from the campaign.  I'd like to see a politician these days send back the unused part of his campaign donations....what a concept.

Ooops there goes that annoying buzzing sound again....I thought the World Cup was over....
